Yoga of the Voice

By the end of October, I'll add another certification to the list - Yoga of the Voice. I will travel out to California to complete the certification at the end of October. But I find that I won't be able to end it there. I'll go back to continue the connection sometime next year -- Silvia Nakkach is most inspiring and it is a pleasure to study with her and the other folks that attend. The Santa Cruz retreat at Pema Osel Ling this July was amazing.....wonderful classes, wonderful location, and those Brazilian ladies are just the best! I don't understand their Portugese language but I sure do like listening to them and their music. Yoga of the Voice is a meditative, spiritually enriching program utilizing Sanskrit mantra and chant, and cross-cultural chant with a strong emphasis on tone and breath control. Aromatherapy

Tuesday, September 1 -

There seems to be a growing interest in aromatherapy. I've been contacted by two libraries very recently to do introduction to aromatherapy workshops. So, my presentation entails a brief history, definitions of essential oils, carrier oil, hydrosols, and safety precautions. The participants will also have a first hand "sniff" and have time to identify what is pleasing to them and what associations come up. Lastly, they'll get "recipes" for trying at home.

Aromatherapy combines well with other modalities too. I was prompted to become certified because I wanted to know how to safely use aromatherapy during a therapeutic tuning fork session, Reiki, sound healing or expressive arts session. Aromatherapy is fascinating, a real science as well as an art.
